The buMOO! Welcome (:

My Website

What is the buMOO

The buMOO is a programmable environment, and a rough approximation of the ECS Building,
perhaps, in the future, we will be able to program all of Baylor's campus on it.
You start in the ECS Foyer and go around the building.
I've put in some objects to play with as you explore.
It is also possible for you to create and add objects.
Every chatacer (also referred to as "player") is allowed to do MOO programming,
but it is not enabled by default.

If you're interested, email  mehner @ cs.ecs.baylor.edu  to enable your character for progamming.
You can get a MOO programming manual here.

We emphasize the importance of the theme of being at Baylor.
We do prefer that people not teleport or do weird non-reality things.
If you are programming, you should make stuff that fits this theme.
In other words, don't make spaceships; do make neardy old computer parts.

How do I get a charactor?

Just send me an email with your requested user name (generally your first or last name) and I'll send you one back with a password.

How do I get connected?

  • If you have a ECS Unix Account click here and follow these instructions. You will need this file.
  • If you don't have an ECS Unix Accont yet, don't fret!
  • If you've got Windows, try tkmoo-light
  • If you're a MAC'y type person, I've heard that Atlantis is really great. To set it up, just point it at fire.ecs.baylor.edu and use port 7777
  • If you're really crazy and never make typing mistakes, you can use (what Donahoo calls evil) Telnet. Just type, in the command prompt:
    telnet fire.ecs.baylor.edu 7777

Ok, I'm here, What do I do?!

First, you want to type:
@describe me as <description>
Then, set your gender by:
@gender <male|female|(or type @gender for a list of options)>

Once all that's taken care of:
type: @tutorial

You'll prolly want to type:
@add-feature #150
and
@add-feature carpal
These will just give you cool featueres that are fun to use. To see other features,
